The problem with movie parodies is that they want to mock everything in a particular genre and put a joke or sight gag in every sequence, perhaps even every frame of the parody, but they don't focus on a story that makes any sense. Makers of such movies often look at Mel Brooks or the guys who did Airplane! and overlook that inside all the jokes, there is a story thread somewhere in there.
