Back in the early 90's I could tolerate and even enjoy some of the hip hop artists, but these days I just cannot STAND the rubbish that is put out. It's like every song is about the same thing with the same beat. I guess the good hip hop artists are staying well hidden underground.

I agree! I wonder how some of these songs even play in the radio. My lip gloss is popping? Chicken noodle dance? Seriously??? That is not good music or lyrics!

Chicken Noodle Dance? I don't think I even wanna know about that one ! The one I really couldn't stand is that milkshake one.

Ah the milkshake song is so annoying! I agree hip hop is not how it used to be and its just become rubbish.

The Roots and Mos Def are so unheard of these days by the kids that think that they know hip hop. The two groups you mentioned are what hip hop is all about. I used to love them back in the 90's. The crap they play today though is what most people consider "good hip hop" and it's sickening. I wish Tribe Called Quest never broke up. Oh yeah there is still De La Soul too , so I guess there are a few rare gems here and there.

Maybe you´ll like that: the Atlanta Ballet teams up with Outkast's Antwan "Big Boi" Patton for the world's first hip hop ballet show, titled "big"!!

There are some hip hop songs I like. I like Justin Timberlake’s beats and a few of Fergie’s songs. I do agree that the music does not have as much meaning as back in the days though.

Just heard a new one this morning. Lollipop, it seemed ok but then I understood what they were saying. Really vulgar. Definitely one of the bad hip-hop songs.

My friend was just telling me this morning that the "old guy" in her office was dancing to Lollipop. I guess this is what she was talking about. I haven't heard it yet but I'm pretty sure I don't want to.

I like this kind of music and even the latest ones,because these are excellent in discs for change of mood.I don't normally go for the lyrics in hip-hop,though.

I also don’t like the hip hop thing is doing nowadays. Sometimes it is very irritating to listen to. Mostly radio play those hip hop beat and what I do I just play a cd on my collections of love songs.
