I'd definitely leave for studies and I'd be happy I got a chance to see his true colors. If some one cannot respect my career needs to say the least, he's definitely not worth my time.

Don't let someone hold you back from your dreams. If he can't handle you going away for awhile, then let him go. Maybe when you come back things will be different, or maybe you will see it wasn't meant to be.

Well, I'd leave for my career.

You can always mail him letter, or call him, or email and Instant Message him. Hell, if he wants your that bad, tell him to invest in a webcam. There are ways to study and keep in touch. He's got to understand that. If he keeps holding you back and being controlling, maybe it's time to move on.

What I feel is that when it comes to career there are no compromises.There are people who have tendency to discourage, but don't let it happen. If he is a true friend he will give all respect to your choice but if he isn't, then good, and it's time to bid goodbye.

Do what you want to do, if you want to study and he doesn't just because you'll forget him etc then he's not worth it. Besides if he's madly devoted to you then he'll come to :P

I'm going to have to agree with everyone in this thread so far. If all he cares about is you being there with HIM and not furthering YOUR life then he's probably not really worth it.
