I don't know if this has been asked before, but I was thinking the other night about past loves and relationships, and my first girlfriend's name happened to cross my mind. That's the first girl I ever kissed - at age nine - and I was her boyfriend from the ages of nine to just a day after my 14th birthday. (And no, we never went "all the way...")

So, how old were you when you first had a "significant other"?

I think it’s too old, I think. I’m 23, maybe then I was afraid then or something else just gives me the view that falling in love means also falling out of love. Maybe I was afraid of commitments or should I say being hurt of the I love.

My first love was at the age of 16. We dated in high school, but eventually he was drafted into the Vietnam war. We stayed in touch, but he came back a different person. So we drifted apart. But I will always think of him as my first love.

I had my first "significant other" when I was 18. It didn't last too long but I definitely believed at that time that he was the "one".
