When should teens start dating?

Do you think there should be a set age that teens should be before they can date? Or do you think it depends on each person? I saw a couple of kids at the movies alone together, holding hands, kissing, etc.. and they only looked to be about 11 ! I just think that's a bit too young to be on a date without parental guidance.

It is important that parents should guide their kids about the right time when they should start dating. The reason is that kids are innocent souls, they might pretend to be very independent and strong to face the world, but the immaturity and lack of experience some times leave them in deep trouble. You love your kids and don't leave them to get to learn the harsh way.

When they are mature and smart enough to understand what dating really meant. They should know why there is dating and the consequences of dating.

The church I belong to strongly recommends that teens don't date until they are around 16 years old. And even then, to get together in large groups instead of pairing off. This tends to prevent problems.

Excellent advise. Young people are easily swayed by their peers. Even when they have had a good upbringing and have been taught to have some common sense. Maturity should dictate alot of what we allow our children to do.
