The American election campaign is certainly gearing up. The Obama’s, McCain’s, and Palin’s have become household products and virtually inundated us with their faces; so much so, our days and nights are contrived by them.
Chevy Chase, a former cast member for Saturday Night Live was though all but impressed with Sarah Palin’s appearance on the show. He admitted that it was a fauxpas to let her proceed with her oration though he was happy with the apparent clairvoyance of Lorne Michaels, the SNL chief- “What was brilliant about [‘SNL’ chief] Lorne [Michaels] was that he had nothing written for Sarah and that apparently she cannot improvise herself out of a paper bag!”
Chevy was critical of Sarah as a runner for vice presidentship in the elections. He suggested that the McCain think tank has got no fuel and it was a huge mistake putting up Sarah for the post. Now it was for whole of America to see it. The way Sarah has been exposed on the show; wish the public had only seen the denouement from a distance.
In a related event, Letterman had bombarded McCain few days ago for his surprising choice in Palin; seems like the republicans have gone out of favor with the media.
