Guillaume Depardieu, the much troubled son of venerable French film star Gerard Depardieu passed away this Monday at an age of 37. Guillaume was no mean actor himself. Paris Artea Hospital Authories suggested that his death was the result of intricacies arising from Pneumonia. He was admitted in the Raymond Poincare hospital in Garches.
He was blitzed to the hospital after having developed pulmonary complications while shooting. Guillaume had won award for being the most promising young actor at the prestigious Cesar’s award.( this is tantamount to be awarded with the Oscar ) This was for his brilliant portrayal in the movie “Les Apperentis”.
Alan Courneau, the man who had ably directed both the father and the son remarked in bereavement that it was a personal loss and an extremely sad day. “Tous les Matins du Monde” directed by Courneau literally baptised Guillaume into the industry.
While he was a teenager, the actor passed through a battery of problems including delinquency. He became much maligned with his foray into alcohol, drugs and also got caught in a series of traffic violations.
He fell out with his father publicly in the year 2003, the same year in which he got amputated.for a bacterial infection of malignant proportion. This was owing to a road accident he had suffered in the year 1996.
