Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell has announced that she will be writing a book series about Carrie Bradshaw’s teenage years. The book series will be entitled ‘The Carrie Diaries’.

The new Bushnell books will give insight as to how the Bradshaw got her start and how she turned out to be the fashionista that she is. It will center on her teenage years including her friends and romances pre Mr. Big, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda.

Bushnell released this statement about her teenage heroine.

“ Carrie began observing and commenting on the social scene. She did not follow the crowd - she led it."

There has been a lot of interest regarding the books. The first one is slated to drop in 2010.
