Tofu and other meat substitutes

I always love tofu and other meat substitutes. The website Meat Substitute - Soy Foods - Tofu Scrambler - Meat Alternatives provides inspiration and creative ideas.

I was vegetarian for two years and I used to get substitutes called Not Bacon - which tasted exactly like bacon without the fat.

I also got Not Dogs which were the veggie version of hot dogs. They tasted great too!

I think people are just wary of trying the meat substitutes if they are big meat lovers. But you are so right. There really isn't that much of a difference. My friend has been a vegetarian almost all her life, and anytime I would go to dinner at her house it was always meat free meals with meat substitutes and the food was great. Her mom was a terrific cook though.

I would love to be a real vegetarian eating only veggies but I love meat too much to give up meat completely. So I will try to eat more tofu and non-meat stuff

Yeah I am one of those people who don't like to substitute my meat. I am such a meat lover...but when I do eat meat I eat lean meat that doesn't have much fat.

I don't ever want to substitute my meaty meals with pure veggies, though I love including them in my meals. I don't eat in bulks so it doesn't matter if I have meat quite often.
