I always prefer jogging tracks to treadmills. But I usually watch people using them extensively. Is it safe to jog on it?I have heard that you can damage your bones and muscles while using a treadmill.
Not sure about bones and muscles being damaged, but I have seen a lot of nothing come of them...especially if the user has no idea how ot program it. Not in a treadmill, but some other exercise machine...my mom got her ankle stuck in...major damage... I tend to stay away from machines...stick to outside cardio (running/biking) and resistance...also stuff like yoga/
You definitely need to get a good regime going and understand treadmills before you start using one. Some people just turn it on, jog on it for a bit and that's it. I have had great luck with treadmills because I would increase the intensity during the peak part of my work outs, and then decline when I am "warming down".
I also follow the proper method required for using a treadmill, but I am never comfortable on it.It will sometimes hurt my ankle or my knee.So I prefer my joggers track.
