Which one is better ? We have an LCD because I have heard that your power bill will skyrocket with a Plasma, but mainly because it didn't cost as much as well. Does anyone own a Plasma, and if so why did you choose ?

My parents have a plasma screen...but I have an LCD screen. I really like my tv especially for the price compared to the plasma tvs out there...but the plasma tvs have amazing picture, that's why people spend more money for the quality.

Liquid crystal display(LCD) is definitely better option even technically.
I too find its reception more soothing and clear.

Plasma TV's will have better resolution meaning clearer pictures and a bigger viewing area.

LCD's are cheaper and obviously they will not have features of the Plasma TV. I prefer Plasma's because of the true clearity and performance.

Be warned, Plasma's do wear out meaning you will need the tubes producing the light replaced VERY frequently.

I still have my 10 year old 29 inch cathode ray tube TV alive and kicking Waitng for it to expire before moving on to Plasma - maybe taking forever!
