Currently the Web is awash with sites starting with "my"

Myspace, MyIBM, MyAOL, MyClick and the list goes on.

Corporations are doing this to make customers believe that there is a one-on-one personal relationship. Do you think they succeeded?

For me, I think the names are really corny.

The names are corny to me as well. It doesn't make me feel anymore of a connection to them if they happen to start with something else besides "My".

I agree with both of you it doesnt make any difference to me whether it starts with my or you and I do think some of them are very corny.

Corny or not, some websites like MySpace are making tonnes of money. I guess the majority really feel a "personal" connection
