How many work at home ?

I work 100% from home. I luckily work for a company that gave me the option a few years ago. I don't think I will ever be able to go back to traffic filled days and the brick and mortar environment. Just wondering how many others are working from home too ?

Nope not many! But I live like 2 blocks down from my job so it's no traffic for me I think I need to be out though I can't stand being at home more than I need to.

Yeah, that's one downside to working at home. You are in the house all day by yourself (or with kids of you have them at home) as opposed to socializing in the office. But when I see the gas prices rising non stop, I think I can deal with being solo to work .

Yeah it is an important factor, the rise is gas price is shorty going to shoot up as the prices of crude oil have risen considerably. It does make a difference if what ever you earn is just for your pocket, I feel pleased when I don't have to get the tank refilled at short intervals.

I guess you have to weigh the plusses and minuses to come to a decision whether to work from home or have a office job. Either choice, you lose some and and you gain some

I work at home too, and it has its pluses and minuses. On the plus, gas as mentioned and on the minus, the social side. Being able to set your own schedule can be a double edged sword. While the flexibility is great, I find myself putting in far more hours a day than I would have if I was working a plain old 9-5 job. It's just too easy not to step away from it, especially if I'm building websites and get engrossed in it and forget all about dinner.

Finding balance can be a real challenge but then I don't miss the office politics, that's for sure!

I work from home and love it, there are times when I wish I was working my 9-5 job when I was around people a lot more and could switch off as soon as I got home, but I get to choose my own hours etc and the negatives and positives are about the same.

I am lucky that my work at home job pretty much is a 9 to 5. I do other things on the side that bring in a little extra cash here but that is totally flexible and up to me when I want to do it. I really think the good of working at home outweighs the bad, and it would probably be pretty hard for me to go back into an office environment even though I do love the socialization.

I really love to work at home if time permits. No hassle of having to choose your clothes everyday. No traffic, less expense on fare and can babysit my 2 year old daughter. But it can not be because I have to bring my grade 2 daughter to school everyday. I go to work everyday, 8 to 5.
