Depp isn’t dead! Bizarre as that may sound, this rather obvious piece of news has taken the online world by storm, as it was recently ‘reported’ that actor Johnny Depp had died in a car crash in France.

The false report surfaced around Saturday last week, with a fake CNN webpage on a website called angelfire.com showing a picture of a car crash and reporting that Depp had died. ‘Alcohol is most likely involved,’ the reports added. The online world of bloggers and tweeters immediately started to buzz with shocked ‘RIP Johnny’ messages.

However, the actor’s rep, Robin Baum, was quoted by a website as saying, “He isn’t dead.” Depp is the latest in a series of celebs to have been ‘killed off’ in this manner, and this isn’t even the first time for him. Hollywood stars Taylor Lautner, Jeff Goldblum, Tom Hanks and Miley Cyrus have all been declared dead at some point or the other in the recent past.

Robert Pattinson not afraid of attention

Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson was recently hit by a taxi cab while trying to escape a hoard of fans, but the British actor claims that he is not afraid of the attention.

The 23-year-old actor who was named the ‘Sexiest Man on the Planet’ by Heat magazine said that he was not afraid of the new tag or the increased adulation .

“I’m not really afraid of it though because I don’t really know how to play up that aspect of it. I don’t know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role really — apart from Twilight, which I didn’t really know was a heartthrob role. I really don’t feel I am one,” he told.

The actor who shot to fame playing lovelorn vampire Edward Cullen in the superhit ‘ Twilight ‘, beat Hollywood A-list actors including Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Zac Efron in the poll.

Johnny Depp tips waiter $4,000

Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp shocked restaurant staff in Chicago by leaving a mammoth tip of $4,000.

The 46-year-old actor was celebrating the red carpet screening of his new movie ” Public Enemies ” with a group of friends including his co-star Marion Cotillard and the film’s director Michael Mann at Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse when he left the exhorbitant gratuity for waiter Mohammed A. Sekhani.

“Depp hosted a party of 15 people, including Mann and Cotillard, and the tip was split 12 ways. Depp is the finest of all the stars I have ever waited on,” Sekhani said.

“And he is a true icon, and his ability to respect others is phenomenal. He loves Chicago, and Chicago loves him. Depp is one cool and generous dude.”

The actor partied at the eatery until 2.30 a.m. before paying his bill, which came to $4,400 before the tip.

Johnny Depp has an alternative career lined up should he ever decide to quit acting – he’s a secret portrait artiste.

The ” Pirates of the Caribbean ” actor has been nurturing his talent for years and picks up a paintbrush whenever he has difficulty sleeping.

He’s been honing his talents by creating oil portraits of literary heroes and celebrity friends.

“I started painting people I admire, like (author Jack) Kerouac, Bob Dylan, Nelson Algren, Marlon Brando, Patti Smith, my girl (Vanessa Paradis), my kids. I painted (late journalist) Hunter (S. Thompson) a couple of times (and) Keith Richards…What I love to do is paint people’s faces, you know, their eyes. Because you want to find that emotion, see what’s going on behind their eyes,” he said.

The sexiest female stars, who divulged details about their crushes amongst both sexes, and rated the ‘Tomb Raider’ actress above all other actresses.

“Male would be Kobe Bryant, female Angelina Jolie,”Brenda Song said.

For Bridget Marquardt: “Female is Christina Aguilera and male … George Clooney?”

When asked about her crushes, Caridee English said: “Rob Pattinson, Josh Hartnett and Eminem. Female, there’s a lot of good females now .. (Tyra?) No! She can’t be my crush, she’s like my mom! Any model like Elle Macpherson, Angelina Jolie or Cindy Crawford.”

Holly Montag claimed: “I’m a big fan of old school, I like manly men like Gerard Butler. I like rugged men, and after “300″ I was like, ”Damn!!” For females, I would have to say Megan Fox, she is banging! I would rather even do her then over Gerard Butler!”
