Taylor Swift can now add Multiple Grammy Award Winner to her list of accolades, as she took home four awards from last night’s 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, including the night’s top honor, Album of The Year. Taylor, who turned 20 in December, is the youngest artist in history to win the music industry’s coveted top prize. She is also the first solo female country winner ever of the award, and the first solo female winner in more than a decade.

Taylor also won the Grammy for Best Country Album for “Fearless,” and took home trophies for Best Country Song and Best Country Vocal Performance for her hit “White Horse.”

Taylor, who accepted her Album of the Year Award from John Legend and Carlos Santana, called her big win a “beautiful, beautiful surprise,” saying from the stage, “Thank you so much! I just hope you know how much this means to me, and to Nathan [Chapman], my producer, and to all these musicians that you see on this stage, that we get to take this back to Nashville! This is for my dad: Thank you for all those times you said I could do whatever I wanted in life. And my mom: You’re my best friend…..All of us, when we’re 80 years old and we’re telling the same stories again and again to our grandkids… this is the story we’ll be telling.”

Earlier in the night, Taylor thanked her record label, Big Machine, for letting her write all of the songs on her records, and songwriter Liz Rose, her co-writer on “White Horse,” for “writing songs with me when she had absolutely no reason to do so.”

Taylor’s “Fearless” album has proved to be a favorite with fans, critics and industry voters, selling more than 5 million CDs, receiving massive critical acclaim, and sweeping the awards categories this season. In addition to winning Grammy awards for Album of the Year and Best Country Album, the project was lauded as Album of the Year by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, and was named Favorite Country Album at the American Music Awards.

Immediately following last night’s show, Taylor and her band left for LAX, heading to Australia and Japan, where she will perform several sold-out shows before returning to the States to launch her FEARLESS 2010 tour March 4th in Tampa.
