Pimples and tooth paste???

I have heard plenty of times people recommending applying toothpaste on the pimples to get rid of the. Has any one tried it? Does it really work?

This is the first time that I have heard of it. It would be nice to know as an additional knowledge if this is actually true. I’m hoping that someone with the experience would be jumping in this thread.

I have actually heard of that a few times. I don't really get pimples too often, so I don't know if it would clear up your whole face, but I tried it on one that I had a few months ago and it did greatly reduce the redness overnight, but it did not necessarily get rid of the blemish.

yes, this is true. i have heard that toothpaste can dry up the pimples. but you need to leave it for only five minutes then rinse it.

It might be good as toothpaste does wonder to our teeth may be it has similar effect on pimples too. I have also heard about this tip.One this is to be taken care of never apply tooth paste having salt in it over your pimples it may cause some further itching and even rashes.

That... sounds like it would hurt. ROFFLE.

I actually never heard this before, but it seems Sage proved a point here. It did reduce the redness but it didn't rid of the pimple entirely. Still, it's probably worth trying this if your acne is terribly red.

I've tried this before and I agree with what Sage said above. The acne wasn't gone but the redness did decrease a bit, which is still good. That way, it doesn't scream at you. Has anyone here used it and gotten the blemish to remove completely?

Don't try these fuzzy things. We already have lots of pimple creams in the market. Why use a knife when a fork is good enough? Don't do any R&D when we already have established products.

Pimples and toothpastes is a bad combination. Actually I never had pimples but I share the feelings with recheck. Why try something when we already have an established solution. Its like pouring kerosene in your truck to check if it works on something other than diesel.

heard about this one as well. sometimes it heals the pimple but it will leave a scar..
some toothpaste has a high content of hydrogen peroxide and it can irritate the pimple pretty bad..so be carefull.. use the right kind of meds or as ur dermatologist about it for sure.

toothpaste contains ingredients that can irritate the skin, especially the delicate skin on the face. Using toothpaste on an already inflamed pimple can cause more redness and irritation. So i that is not true....
