Actress Kate Winslet has sparked rumours of a blossoming new romance with Sir Richard Branson’s nephew after the two were snapped together in London. The Titanic star met Ned Abel Smith while vacationing on Branson’s Necker Island last month, and even though the trip was marred after a freak fire which destroyed the Virgin boss’ retreat, Winslet and Smith reportedly found a connection. And Smith, 33, who separated from his wife, heiress Eliza Cowdray earlier this year, was completely taken by the star, according to Britain’s The Daily Mail. A source says, “Ned was heartbroken and went to Necker to take his mind off things. But when Kate came out they really hit it off.” The pair further fuelled reports of a new relationship after they were photographed strolling through the streets of central London. The rumoured new couple was in town to attend the funeral of Smith’s grandfather.
