James Franco, Natalie Portman Get Lead Acting Nods for Spirit Awards
Next year is shaping up to be a big one for James Franco.
The actor will co-host the Oscars – plus on Tuesday he scored a leading actor nod for 127 Hours for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The film was also nominated for best feature and will compete against Black Swan, Winter’s Bone, The Kids Are All Right and Greenberg.

Spears’ Glee cameo dubbed ‘obscene’
Singer Britney Spears’ cameo on hit TV show ” Glee” has angered viewers and they have branded the episode as “extremely inappropriate” and “sexually provocative”.
The pop star made a cameo appearance in the musical in an episode, which was aired in the US in September. A newly released document from America’s Federal Communications Commission has revealed the programme attracted a series of grievances because of the “sexual” nature of some of the scenes.

Shakira ‘earns $660,000 for charity’
Shakira has earned $660,000 (£419,000) for her charity foundation Pies Descalzos.
The singer agreed to appear in an advert for a Spanish cava drink – filmed last week in Barcelona – in exchange for the hefty donation by the company Freixenet, reports The AP.
