Authorities are investigating a rape threat left on a voicemail for Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole.
The former judge was said to have been alerted after the raunchy message was accidentally left on the show’s host Dermot O’Leary’s mobile, who later raised the alarm.
“The message was of a sexual, threatening and sickening nature. Dermot was horrified when he heard it. He thought at first it was a sick wind-up, but soon realized there was something sinister going on,” The Sun quoted a source as saying.
The source added: “Somehow this caller has tried to get hold of her number and somehow accidentally got Dermot’s. If they were prepared to go to that effort, who knows what they would be prepared to do?”
A City of London Police spokesman confirmed: “We are investigating claims of an offensive message being left on a mobile telephone. It follows a complaint from a member of the public.”
‘Precious’ star Mo’Nique has offered fellow Oscar winner Sandra Bullock her support, as Bullock battles to save her marriage following an alleged cheating scandal.
‘The Blind Side’ star has walked out on husband Jesse James following a tabloid expose about his reported relationship with a tattoo model and porn star .
Mo’Nique insists that she is there for Bullock if she ever needs to talk to someone who has no links to her marriage.
