Former 'X Factor' hopeful auditions again

Former X Factor hopeful Annastasia has returned to audition for a second time.

Annastasia made it to the Judges' Houses stage in 2008 but was rejected by Cheryl Cole.

Speaking before her audition in tomorrow's episode of The X Factor, she says: "When I got a no from Cheryl it really did upset me. But I'm here now to prove that I am strong enough.

"When you're a mum, like I am, you just have to teach your children to never give up on their dream. I have to do this."

When Cole asks Annastasia if she thinks it was the right decision to send her home in 2008, she replies: "Yes, I definitely think you made the right choice. My daughter was really, really young and I don't think my emotions meant I could cope with it. I wasn't myself. When you see me perform now you'll see who I really am."

However, judge Simon Cowell is unimpressed with Annastasia's rendition of Tina Turner's 'Proud Mary' and stops her in the middle.

"This is like one of these terrible Tina Turner tribute acts," he says. "I've seen trannies do better versions. I have... I think you're a better singer than that."

The X Factor continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV1.

Playboy approaches Cheryl Cole for shoot

Playboy has reportedly offered singer Cheryl Cole $770,000 to feature in their magazine.

The famous men's magazine wants the stunning "X Factor" star for a centrefold shoot, reports dailystar.

Top bosses of the magazine think Cheryl, 27, has the perfect looks, quirky accent and toned body to make her perfect to follow other famous centrefolds such as US reality star Kim Kardashian.

"Cheryl is incredibly flattered by the offer but she has always been fundamentally opposed to going nude in magazines. She reckons it's great if other girls can do it, but it really isn't her," said a close friend of Cheryl.

"People won't believe it but she is actually incredibly shy when it comes to all that stuff," the friend added.

Lindsay Lohan ordered to undergo outpatient rehab program

Though Lindsay Lohan checked out  of rehab early Tuesday evening, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled today that the actress receive outpatient care. Judge Elden S. Fox’s order requires that Lohan undergo , counseling for addiction, and random drug and alcohol tests at least twice a week. Fox also tossed out two drug counts on the actress’ record — Lohan had pleaded guilty to the charges in 2007 — and ordered that she be taken off supervised probation if she attends all her outpatient sessions and passes all drug tests.

The ruling allows Lohan to continue work promoting and making feature films. (Her upcoming movie, Machete, heads to theaters Sept. 3.) Lohan’s lawyer told the Associated Press that the actress plans to comply with the ruling. “She has changed,” Shawn Chapman Holley told the AP. “She’s healthy. She’s clear-headed. She is positive at looking forward.” Lohan was not present at the hearing.

Katy Perry Says 'Peacock' Is 'The World's Biggest Innuendo'

'I'm always looking for that one thing that's really normal that you can make twisted,' singer says.

Katy Perry isn't exactly the queen of nuance. In her "California Gurls" video she appeared wearing a bra that squirted whipped cream. Oh yeah, she was also naked. So on the cheerleader anthem off Teenage Dream, when she asks her dude to show her his peacock, she doesn't mean his brightly colored feathers, if you know what we mean.

What "Mickey" did for unrequited love, Perry is certainly trying to do for harassing dudes into showing you their, um, peacocks. But don't get her wrong: The whole idea, when writing the track, was to have fun with words. "Halfway through the record, I was saying to [the people I work with], 'Look I've got a lot of jewels, but I really don't have the crown. I really don't have that full-blown presentation,' " Perry recalled.

So what's a girl to do? Perry decided to hit the studio again and make magic happen. "I wanted to go in with [producer] Stargate and I finished off with a couple of songs. One song called 'Firework,' which is probably my favorite song off the record, like something I'm most proud of, and then a song called 'Peacock,' which is just like, it's like the world's biggest innuendo."

Well, it's a bit more than innuendo. Take away the "pea" and you have one of the song's most obvious references to male genitalia. "With me there are a lot of double entendres," she said. "There's a lot of puns. You know, when I learned how to write a song, the person that was kind of teaching me was an amazing songwriter, and he was like, 'Don't forget about the double entendres. Don't forget about the puns. Don't forget that one word can have two meanings.' So I'm always kind of looking for that one thing that's really normal that you can make twisted."

I have been hurt a lot in love: Barrymore

Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore says she has lost count of the number of times she has cried over a guy.

The 35-year-old beauty admits that many of her romances have ended in heartache, Showbiz Spy reported.

"God, I don't know the number and I don't know the count. But I keep telling myself I should never go into love the next time, remembering that I've been hurt before," Barrymore said.

"I've spent a lot of time in my life dedicating myself to love or the pursuit of love or the understanding of love. And now I've stopped believing in happy endings and I've started believing in good days," she added.

The American beauty shot to fame as a child starring in Steven Spielberg's 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'.

She quickly became one of Hollywood's most recognized child actors, going on to establish herself in mainly comic roles.

"I didn't have the kind of childhood or family life that would have given me any perspective on what a happy home or relationship would feel like. So I haven't had as much success in my relationships as I would have liked," Barrymore said.

Following a turbulent childhood which was marked by drug and alcohol abuse and two stints in rehab, Barrymore wrote the 1990 autobiography, 'Little Girl Lost'.

"You can't live your life blaming your failures on your parents and what they did or didn't do for you. You're dealt the cards that you're dealt. I realized it was a waste of time to be angry at my parents and feel sorry for myself. I have been much more objective about my childhood and my relationship with my mother in these last few years," she said.

MJ's family compound haunted by ghosts

Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine has spoken out about his family's darkest secret - the clan's famous compound in Encino, California, is haunted by ghosts.

The singer revealed that the estate was built on a burial ground and he has encountered many spooks there over the years, reports femalefirst.

Jermaine said ghosts have been spotted roaming the grounds of the estate and he once woke up to find two in his bedroom, when he was a child.

"I opened my eyes and there were two older people," he said.

And he insists the spooks weren't fun spirits. "They were angry, evil. You could feel the presence."

Jackson recalls sharing the details of his ghostly encounter with his mother, Katherine, who told him the ghosts were "demons".

"She said 'It's something that's gonna be in me for the rest of my life'," he said.

'Expendables' a funeral dirge for action stars

It is not often that so many careers gather together to die in one place. Like a cinematic elephant’s graveyard, “The Expendables” will act as the final resting place for several of our once great action stars.

They signed up blindly and followed their leader lemming-like over the precipice -- although this may have actually saved further suffering, both for the viewers and the aging action icons who can’t seem to let go of glory days.

Sylvester Stallone is the Jim Jones of this particular gathering, the writer and director of this last grasp at a bygone era. Instead of injecting new life into these sputtering careers, we instead get the death rattle of has-beens and never-shoulda-beens.

And, lest I come off sounding ageist, it should be noted that several of the faces and a lot of the muscles look recently minted. I’m guessing many are five years old, tops.

The problem begins with the script. I know that it seems middling to expect much plot from a movie such as this, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want any plot. Even a decent framework to support the obligatory carnage and explosions would have been nice. We can’t even get that here.

After a cool opening scene establishes just how bad this team of mercenaries is, it goes off the rails. They are hired to go to a small island and kill a general.

Once there, Stallone’s Barney (seriously, how is anyone supposed to be intimidated by someone named Barney?) meets a girl, gets to know absolutely nothing about her other than she is the daughter of the man he is contracted to kill, then blows the crap out of a good chunk of the island. Yet, as he preposterously escapes in a sea plane that appears to be the size of the “Spruce Goose”, he just can’t get that girl off of his mind.

So even though he’s not being paid, and even though he had no opportunity to form an emotional connection that would warrant risking his life for this complete stranger, he still decides to go back to the island, and of course his loyal buddies can’t let him go it alone.

This is an all star cast from years gone by, and unfortunately it shows. With Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenneger and Bruce Willis (the last two in short cameos that are massively oversold in the trailer), you have a gathering of some of the biggest stars in the world back in the ’80s and ’90s. Throw in Jason Statham for the slightly younger set (and to add a little relevancy to this rapidly aging crew), Terry Crews, UFC fighter Randy Couture and former wrestler and current lousy actor Steve Austin, and you have the makings of a dream team of action movies.

So I suppose that Stallone’s writing and directing ineptitude make him the Freddy Kreuger of this dream team, killing all potential.

After “Rocky Balboa”, I had hope that Stallone could pull of a career resurgence of sorts. After all, his John Rambo films stood alongside the Schwarzenneger catalog back in the ’80s. It would have been nice to see someone who used to do action right make a return in this age of blue screens and animated explosions.

Then came the latest “Rambo” fiasco. Also written and directed by Stallone, this version focused on blood and mayhem rather than script and character development. But this apparently appeals to him, as he goes down the same path with “The Expendables.”

Though the body count seemed significantly less than the “Rambo” reboot, Stallone still favors the over the top gore, beheadings and dismemberments that try to serve as a distraction from an empty story.

In addition, he continues to use the jittery handcam that made so much of “Rambo” blurred and indistinguishable. It is an effect replicated here, and continues to do a disservice to the overall film. After all, what good is an action film if you can’t distinguish the action?

If there is one plus, it is the refreshing lack of special effects and CGI. The explosions are real, the fight scenes involve genuine fist on flesh.

For the most part, the only things artificial in the film are the aforementioned muscles and faces. It is a nice old school method of putting together an homage to ’80s action.

Problem is: When they do finally use CGI, it is executed so poorly as to be glaringly obvious. Take note of when Steve Austin is transformed into a cartoon character near the end of the film.

Aside from Statham and Rourke, most of these guys show why they have to combine together to open a movie. Statham aquits himself, and Rourke’s part is so small it makes no difference if he’s in the movie or not. But there are some takeaways from the film:

~ Jet Li should never be asked to act in English.

~ Dolph Lundgren should never be asked to act.

~ Even when Bruce Willis is limited screen time, he’s gonna get his “F” bombs in.

~ HGH doesn’t enhance acting, writing or directing abilities.

~ It is hard to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer when you’re riding a crotch rocket. I think a Schwinn with a banana seat would be more intimidating.

“Expendables” hopes to create a massive explosion in the movie world (a sequel has already been announced) but after the fuse is lit it ends up being more of a firecracker than a stick of dynamite. After the smoke clears, little remains but ringing ears and a lousy memory.

Taylor Swift's 'Mine' Video: Watch A Sneak Peek Now!

'Black Swan' star plays country singer's paramour in clip, which chronicles an up-and-down romance.

Taylor Swift falls in — and out — of love in her upcoming video for "Mine," and you can catch an exclusive sneak peek of the clip right now.

Co-directed by Swift and Roman White, the "Mine" video was shot in Kennebunkport, Maine, and features a rollercoaster romance between Taylor and her man, played by "Black Swan" actor Toby Hemingway. In the clip we've got for you right now, the relationship's ups and downs are on display.

We see Swift and Hemingway holding hands on the beach, cozying up on the couch, and — in a genuinely charming moment — getting engaged when Hemingway pops the question and presents a ring to a surprised Swift. There's also plenty of bad, including a whopper of a shouting match that sends a little girl (which, we're assuming, symbolizes a young Swift) scurrying from the house.

In the preview clip, we also get a few shots of Swift, who's nominated for Best Female Video at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, performing the song in a dreamlike forest where photographs of the couple dangle from the trees.

From the look of things, the "Mine" video follows the lyrical arc of the song, though we're not quite sure how the relationship plays out. We probably won't get our answer until "Mine" premieres on Friday (August 27) at 8:30 p.m. ET on MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com.

"Mine," which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week, is the first single off Swift's forthcoming album Speak Now, which is due on October 25.
